Late spring and summertime bring ample opportunities and fun for everyone! The clear-water lake provides great fishing, kayaking, boating and water skiing. Cycling is just a moment away, you can hit the breathtaking climbs of the Smoky mountains. The Appalachian trail passes within a few miles and great hiking is just out the front door. World class rafting and kayaking at the Nantahala Outdoor Center are other great attractions. Up high in the mountains and completely shaded by trees, with high vaulted ceilings and fans, we hardly have a need for the window units on the top floor! A cool breeze off the lake (or a quick jump in) is usually all you need to stay cool.
